The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) is the appointed body for the receipt and processing of product notifications used in the event of emergency health response in German Poison Centres (PC).
Starting from 1 January 2021 the Poison Centres Notification format (PCN format) will be the only accepted format for the most notifiable products. Since April 2019 the BfR accepts product notifications in European harmonised PCN format submitted via the ECHA submission portal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
At the conference, the BfR provides insight and a forum to discuss how the new procedure is currently being implemented. Beside the introduction of new solutions to submit very variable product mixtures, the clarification of issues related to the notification procedure is in focus of the conference.
